Not even thinking fishing this morning.
The seas are down to a near attempt of a lake ... but the occasional set comes in sort of. So I went out on the old Mal.
23 degrees in the calm water so warm that plenty of weed has arrived overnight ... a great band from the shore to about five meters out. Thick sand papery kelp that falls in love with your legs and wont take the hint. Not the place to hang out if you're anything. So paddling rather than swimming was the go... out back.
And then it pissed down rain. Big bouncy rain drops, no wind, here comes a set.
An easy ride then off ... amongst the weed.. but quickly back on the board and out for a few more. Very glad I'm not wearing a leg rope. Very dangerous in weed like this.
Rain stops and there's that salt water interpretation of an oily bath ... must be those ions.
Waves but no fish.
