Been crook as.
Got some fresh blood the other day and last night finally tracked down and bagged a beautiful 35cm Cockney off the beach. Went up a few hook sizes to no 2 long shank and went back to the old small reel and the simple setup of sinker running, swivel a good 40cm trace then the hook with a big fat wormie. Hit like a bomb and took off which required a little playing with the tension (on the fly). The light rod was fun and finally got him in in the dark. I think it was a bloke.
So I thought it was a bream but when a mate came around for tucker him reckons it was a Squire. Out came the fish reference books. Guess what it is a Cockney ... in the snapper class.
But still crook as ... so gotta go.
